Directly to you. Every application is submitted with your real email address. When a recruiter clicks "Reply", their message lands in your inbox — not ours. We have no inbox UI for managed replies because we don't intercept your conversations. Other "auto-apply" services use disposable relay domains that forward through their platform — we don't, and we don't plan to.
A submission is marked applied only when our automation captures one of these specific signals
from the employer's site: confirmation text ("Your application was sent", "Thanks for applying"),
a redirect to a thank-you URL, or the Apply button flipping to an "Applied" state.
If we can't detect any of those, the status is failed, no credit is charged, and you can
apply manually using the email we sent you with your tailored CV and cover letter attached.
Three big differences. (1) Most competitors submit to their own internal job aggregator and forward the applications — we submit to the employer's actual applicant tracking system, so your submission reaches real human hiring managers. (2) They use disposable relay email addresses; we use yours, so recruiters reply directly to you. (3) They show you a "submitted" badge regardless of whether anything actually went through; we capture a screenshot of the confirmation page — or mark it failed.
We've designed for this. When auto-submission fails (CAPTCHA, weird form, you-name-it), you still get an email with the tailored CV and cover letter attached, plus the direct Apply URL — so you can apply manually in under a minute. The prep work isn't wasted; only the final submission step was blocked. You can also turn on Hybrid Mode which opens the browser visibly so you can solve the CAPTCHA + click Submit yourself — the bot fills everything else.
Your CV and cover letters are stored privately in your RoleScout account — never sold to data brokers or shared with job boards beyond the specific employer you're applying to.
